And these are just the animals I’ve accrued on this trip. I have more, of many different kinds, at home. In fact, I have a compulsive desire to surround myself with things that have friendly little faces and eyes that can look back at me. Some people find the concept frightening, but I find it comforting. It means I’m not alone.
